Trades Assistants, Boilermakers, Riggers, Fitters and Turners

EMG Workforce, a Cairns based agency specialising in remote skilled labour hire are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Trades Assistants, Riggers, Boilermakers and Fitters/Turners. We are actively seeking individuals interested in shutdown / maintenance project works on Dragline equipment in the Bowen Basin Coalfields as well as a 10 week speciality project taking place in August. We have multiple positions available for motivated, professional, safety conscious individuals keen to engage in remote shutdown work.

What you need to know:

  • The work is casual, but rosters are fixed in advance and work is ongoing every month

  • Mine site shutdown work is hot, hard and you will be working in a close knit team for long periods of time.

  • There is a zero-tolerance approach to drugs and alcohol. You will be tested daily.

  • Flexibility, a good sense of humour along with a great attitude is important

  • You will need to have a current Coal board medical and BMA Core induction. We may be able to assist with arranging/facilitating this in the first instance.

  • Preference will be given to individuals who have previous mine/shutdown experience

**Please note that you must reside in Far North Queensland (Cairns Region) to be considered for these positions.**

The following criteria is essential to be considered for these positions:

  • You must hold a valid Trade Qualification to be classified as a Boilermaker / Fitter / Rigger

  • TA’s require previous experience but no formal qualifications

  • Construction White Card

  • Confined Space Entry (current within 2 years)

  • Working at Heights (current within 2 years)

  • The ability to work 12hr shifts, both day and night

  • Strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety process and procedures

Successful candidates must participate in a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.

You will need to find out own way to Mackay for the works but fuel to get from home to site will be reimbursed.
